Naturfatura

Naturfatura brings together a series of sculptural works and a group of large-format drawings. They belong to a practice through which I have been proposing an absolute, non-hierarchical continuity between the concepts of the human, nature, artifice and culture.

In Naturfatura, the drawings stand as possible annotations: fabulations on an idea of scientific observation in which I fuse forms, notions and sensations from the worlds of the organic, the manufactured, geology and botany. The sculptures carry this exploration further, expanding the drawings into hybrid constructions that give material form to these mixtures and enter into dialogue with the physical presence of the space.

In the summer of 2023 the project was shown again as Sativa, a solo exhibition in the second cycle of O Desenho como Pensamento (Drawing as Thought), under the artistic direction of Alexandre Baptista, in Águeda. The cycle has a catalogue.
